Filming, Research and Archaeology Visa

REQUIRED MANDATORY DOCUMENTS & PROCEDURES
FILM VISA

If you wish to produce documentary films, commercial, or promotional films within Turkey, you must obtain prior permission from the Turkish authorities. Once permission is granted, you will be issued the appropriate Filming Visa through Voya Visa.

  • No appointment needed: Visit between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • In-person application: All applicants must apply in person for fingerprints.
  • Requirements:
    • Passport (valid 6 months) or Refugee Travel Document (valid 1 year).
    • Non-British: UK residence permit card + photocopy + gov.uk settlement status printout.
    • One recent biometric photograph (max 6 months old).
    • Filming permission from the Turkish Ministry of Culture (listing full names of all crew).
    • Letter from the filming company detailing the work.
    • Visa pre-application form and Undertaking form (fully completed and signed).
Visa Fee: £288 for British citizens (includes travel insurance). Process takes maximum 2 weeks.
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH / ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATION

The most important document is the excavation permit from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Your name must be listed in the permit.

IMPORTANT: Voya Visa can only take applications if the permit list is sent by the Turkish Consulate London to us. Please email us to verify before attending.
Requirements for Archaeological Visa:
  • One biometric photograph (UK passport size, last 6 months).
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond intended stay.
  • Non-British: Valid BRP (6 months validity) or printed proof of residence status (no share codes).
  • Acceptance letter from relevant authorities in Turkey (university, library, etc.).
  • Student or employer letter from the UK university.
  • Completed and signed application forms.
Visa Fee: £288 for British citizens (includes travel insurance). Process takes maximum 2 weeks.
IMPORTANT: Travel insurance MUST be arranged through our office in accordance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
  • Documents must be original + photocopy. Screenshots are not accepted.
  • We will keep your passport during the 2-week processing period.
