FILM VISA
If you wish to produce documentary films related to scientific research and observation, or make commercial and promotional films within Turkey, you must obtain prior permission from the Turkish authorities before applying for a visa at our office. Once permission is granted, you will be issued the appropriate Filming Visa through Voya Visa.

- No appointment needed: Visit our office anytime between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
- In person application: All applicants must apply in person as we need to take fingerprints.
- Requirements for Film Visa:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months, or a Refugee Travel Document valid for at least 1 year. (Non-British: UK residence permit card + photocopy + settlement status reference printout from gov.uk).
- One recent biometric photograph (no more than six months old).
- Filming permission from the Turkish Ministry of Culture.
- An approved copy of the permission application form, listing the full names of all crew members.
- A letter from the filming company detailing the work to be conducted in Turkey.
- Visa pre-application form and Undertaking form (fully completed and signed).
Visa Fee: £288 for British citizens (includes travel insurance). Processing takes maximum 2 weeks.
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH / ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATION
The most important document is the excavation permit from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Please make sure your name is in the excavation permit, otherwise you can’t apply for the visa.
IMPORTANT: VOYA VISA can only take applications if the excavation permit list is sent by the Turkish Consulate London to us. Please email us to verify before attending.
Requirements for Archaeological Visa:
- One biometric photograph of the applicant (UK passport size, taken within the last 6 months).
- A passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended “duration of stay”.
- Non-British: Valid BRP (at least 6 months validity) or printed proof of residence status (no share codes).
- An acceptance letter from the relevant authorities in Turkey (e.g., university, library, excavation site, etc.).
- A student or employer letter from the UK university.
- Completed and signed application forms.
Visa Fee: £288 for British citizens (includes travel insurance). Processing takes maximum 2 weeks.
IMPORTANT: Travel insurance must be arranged through our office in accordance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
- Documents must be original + photocopy. Screenshots are not accepted.
- We will keep your passport during the 2-week processing period.
