Academic / Teacher Visa

Applicants are required to bring all documents mentioned below to their appointment. Otherwise, we will not be able to process your application. Faiure to provide these documents will result in delays in processing the visa application.

ACADEMIC EMPLOYEE / TEACHER WORK VISA:

  1. Job Introduction and Work Visa Request Letter from the Turkish Company:
    This letter must be addressed to the Turkish Consulate in London. It should include your Turkish job title in brackets (not exceeding 30 characters), the proposed start date, and the duration of the work visa. The job title must match exactly with the employment contract. Note that the start date cannot be backdated from your visa application date. Job offer letters are not acceptable.
  2. Employment Contract:
    The contract must include all relevant details, including the Turkish job title (not exceeding 30 characters), the proposed start date, and the duration of the work visa. There must be no discrepancies between the information provided in the letter from the Turkish company and the employment contract. The contract should be printed on standard A4-sized paper with normal-sized font (no small prints). The start date cannot be backdated from your visa application date.
  3. Passport (Original and Photocopy):
    If you are not a British citizen, you must also bring your UK residence permit card.
  4. Applicants who are non-British must have a valid BRP with a validity of 6 months. Please make sure that if you have Ordinary Passport , bring your original Passport and BRP card along with a photocopies of them and print out your Settlement status Reference from gov.uk website which shows sufficient validity.
  5. 1 Biometric Photograph:
    UK passport size.
  6. Work Permit Form:
    This form must be fully filled and signed.
  7. Undertaking Form:
    This form must be fully filled and signed.
  8. Teachers:
    A pre-approval letter from the Ministry of Education is required.
  9. Permanent Resident Card:
    EU passport holders should bring their immigration status reference number printout for us to verify via the Home Office’s website. Non-EU and non-British passport holders must present a valid residence card (or visa for the UK) with sufficient validity (at least two months) to collect the visa.   10. Passport Validity:
    The applicant’s passport must be valid for the duration of employment plus an additional 60 days.
  11. Travel Insurance:
    This must be arranged through our office in accordance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

You should receive a work visa reference number from the Turkish Consulate within 10 days. You must forward this reference number to your host company (or the party handling the paperwork) in Turkey. Please note that you cannot travel to Turkey before receiving this reference number from the Turkish Consulate in London.

The work visa process takes 4-6 weeks. During this time, we will not keep your passport. However, you cannot travel to Turkey until you receive the reference number.

Once the work permit is approved, your visa will be issued by the Turkish Consulate General. You will need to bring your passport to our office. We will send the passport to the Turkish Consulate in London, and the visa will be ready within 10 days. Once the visa is ready, you will receive an email for collection.

You must enter Turkey with the work visa to activate it. The host company will then provide you a work permit card, which will allow for multiple entries to and from Turkey.

The fee for a 1-year work visa is GBP 582 for British citizens.
